Android services

Android apps that work on the phones people actually own.

Android is not one device, it is a thousand. An app that only works on a flagship is an app that fails for most of the market, which in Saudi Arabia is a large share of your customers.

Doffo's Android app is ours, part of 20,000+ downloads across both stores.

Overview

Android, the way we do it

The mistake with Android is testing on one good phone. Real users are on mid-range handsets, older OS versions, smaller screens and slower connections, and an app tuned to a developer's device falls over quietly on all of them. It does not crash so much as become unpleasant, which is harder to notice and worse for retention.

We build in Kotlin, test across a real device range rather than a simulator, and watch what happens after release. Doffo's Android app is ours, and its crash reports come to us.

What's included

What you actually get

  • Written in Kotlin, for the device range your users actually carry
  • Tested on mid-range hardware and older OS versions, not just the newest
  • Published to Google Play under your name, including the review process
  • Right-to-left Arabic supported from the first screen
  • Crash and performance monitoring watched after release

How we work

Five steps, no surprises

  1. 01

    We talk

A call or a WhatsApp thread. You tell us what is not working; we tell you honestly whether we are the right people.

  2. 02

    We scope it

A written plan with what you get, what it costs and how long it takes. Fixed, so there are no surprises later.

  3. 03

    We build it

You see it as it goes, not at the end. Changes are cheap while it is still being built.

  4. 04

    We put it live

On infrastructure we set up and secure, tested before the launch date.

  5. 05

    We keep it running

Updates, monitoring and someone who answers. Most clients stay on a monthly agreement.

Questions

About android

Which Android versions do you support?

We set the floor from your own analytics rather than a default. In this market that usually reaches further back than a European project would, and it matters.

Do you test on real devices?

Yes, and on mid-range ones in particular. An app that is only ever run on a new flagship will disappoint most of the people who install it.

Can you publish to Google Play for us?

Yes, under your own developer account so you own the listing, including the store assets and the policy declarations.
